Twitch is the most popular platform among streamers; however, this does not mean that it is free of controversy and criticism for some of its policies. The platform has been the protagonist of several scandals due to its banning system, described by many as unfair, abusive and not very transparent.
Dan Clancy, executive manager of the platform, is aware of this and knows that the community has demanded important changes to its sanction policies. What is interesting is that the executive was interested in the proposal and hinted that Twitch could give streamers a second chance with permanent bans.

During a recent interview with streamer Quin69 (via GameRant), the Twitch boss stated that they have heard the community's concerns regarding the permanent banning and sanctioning system.
He hinted that, at some point, the platform may go for major changes to its policies related to moderation of users and their content. What caught the attention of many is that Clancy mentioned as a possibility to forgive permanent bans and give a second chance to streamers who were banned from the platform.
He stated that they must first analyze many issues, as the ideal would be to find a balance so that Twitch remains a safe platform while having a more transparent and equitable system in terms of penalties.
So, the company is open to improving its moderation practices and policies in the long term, which could benefit content creators of all sizes.
Twitch and its criticized moderation policies
The platform has been criticized in the past for being inconsistent in its application of moderation policies, resulting in permanent, unfair and non-transparent sanctions in the eyes of the community.
The company has also been singled out for conflict of interest, as there is no equal treatment for the various types of content creators on the platform. As if that were not enough, it has also been criticized for the difficulties in appealing a suspension, whether momentary or definitive.
Because of all this, the community in general believes that the company should adjust its moderation system as soon as possible to offer a more balanced platform for all its users, regardless of the number of followers they have.
One of the cases that generated the most noise on the subject was that of Dr DisRespect, who was banned from the platform without explanation. There was even a legal battle involved, as the streamer demanded a justification for his permanent ban.
