PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 lost this week an important feature that thousands of players used. We refer to integration with X, social network formerly known as Twitter. Thus, it is no longer possible to share multimedia material such as screenshots and videos directly from a console.
Months ago, something similar happened with Xbox consoles, which also lost support for sharing content on X. Elon Musk, owner of the social network, is aware of gamers' discontent and will apparently do something to change this situation.
Support for X on consoles could return thanks to Elon Musk
In case you don't remember, PlayStation and Xbox consoles were left without integration with X due to the fees the social network charges for the use of its API on third-party platforms. This has impacted thousands of gamers of both brands, who now have to resort to other methods to share multimedia content on said social network.
Precisely some X accounts have complained about this lack of support, especially since Elon Musk wants his network to also be a platform for streaming.
"X is aiming to become a major streaming platform, but this will be less convenient for console players now that both Xbox and Playstation integration is gone," commented the X News Daily account.
To everyone's surprise, Musk responded to the post and hinted that he will do something about it to change the situation in the future. "I will look into this," the tycoon said.
Many players took the opportunity to ask Musk to do something, as the feature is very important to the community. While nothing is confirmed for now, the owner of X is expected to speak about it in the near future.
