In a matter of weeks we will see the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI and, as expected, gamers are more than excited. Part of the community is also worried about the reveal, as they fear that some decision by Rockstar will somehow ruin the release of the highly anticipated title.
Specifically, some gamers believe that the studio will make a lousy decision and release GTA VI on current and last generation consoles. Many believe that bringing the game to PS4 and Xbox One would be a big mistake that could affect the ambition of the new installment.
Gamers don't want GTA VI to come to PS4 and Xbox One
In a post on reddit (via GAMINGbible), gamers talked about the debut of GTA VI and how unfortunate it would be to see it on past-gen consoles. Some fans believe that PS4 and Xbox One market share will prove irresistible to Rockstar because of the potential profit margin.
For that reason, some people think the game will have multiple ports and believe this is unfortunate. From the perspective of many, Rockstar should focus solely on current consoles and make GTA VI a true next-gen title.
Some believe that this is unlikely to happen, especially considering the history of GTA V, available for 3 different console generations. Certain fans believe that GTA VI will indeed come to several generations of systems, but not necessarily to PS4 and Xbox One.
To be exact, they believe that GTA VI could be active for years and debut seamlessly on future Sony and Microsoft consoles. The issue is that few users are excited about a possible PS4 and Xbox One port.
"It would be a sad day as a consumer if Rockstar decided they want to cash in on the PS4 and Xbox One install base as GTA VI will be their biggest and most expensive game ever," said one fan of the franchise.
