Overnight, Among Us rose from the ashes and became one of the most successful independent video games in the world. Although its popularity waned over time, it still maintains a very loyal community. Fortunately, it seems that big things are on the way.
While the multiplayer title from InnerSloth is very affordable on all platforms, developers generate revenue through the sale of cosmetics. In this vein, it has had special crossovers with third-party franchises, such as Halo, PUBG, Destiny, and more. It appears that a huge collaboration that will excite fans is imminent.
Among Us Might Collaborate with A Hat in Time, Undertale, Celeste, and More Indie Games
InnerSloth took to their social media to share a cryptic message and an image that sparked a lot of speculation. It seems to hint that a crossover between Among Us and other major indie titles could materialize, although most details are still unknown.
"Wow, indie games are cool. It would be even cooler if someday we did stuff together, imagine," reads the text of the post. The image shows an Among Us crewmate alongside the silhouettes of characters from other independent titles.
Users with a keen eye identified characters from Untitled Goose Game, A Hat in Time, and Celeste. To fuel the excitement, Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale and Deltarune, responded to the post with a joke, which was enough to thrill the community.
Although she refrained from revealing more details, Victoria Tran, Director of Communications at InnerSloth, stated that fans would be surprised when they find out what they are currently working on.
Most likely, cosmetic items inspired by these franchises will arrive in Among Us, but some players theorize that a crossover game could be in the works. We'll have to wait to learn all the details.
