Halo Infinite is on the rise and seems to be on its way to becoming one of the great comebacks after its troubled debut. The game by 343 Industries continues to win over multiplayer users with new content and this time has surpassed a competitor whose creator, curiously, was responsible for this iconic Xbox franchise.
Halo Infinite Surpasses Destiny 2 on the Most Played Games List on Xbox in the United States
According to a report from Windows Central, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite has already surpassed Destiny 2 on the list of the most played video games on Xbox in the United States. This has been confirmed at the time of writing this note, as Halo Infinite holds the 16th position on the list, while Destiny 2 is behind at 17th. This change in positions comes after it was revealed that the game from 343 Industries surpassed 30 million unique players.
Halo Infinite Rises as Destiny 2 Declines
Likewise, the fact that the multiplayer of Halo Infinite surpasses Destiny 2 on Xbox comes days after it was confirmed that Bungie is in a major crisis due to the drop in the number of users of its live-service game.
On the other hand, it was recently confirmed that Destiny 2 reached historic lows on Steam, a significant decline considering that earlier this year, Bungie's game recorded its highest average and peak with the release of Lightfall, so everything came crashing down in a matter of months.
Precisely, the poor performance of Destiny 2 in recent months impacted the generated revenue, and Bungie made the decision to lay off workers, in addition to delaying the projects in progress, which will be released until the summer of 2024 for the next expansion of their franchise and until 2025 for their upcoming release, a Marathon multiplayer.
