Starfield emerged unscathed in its launch, but it wasn't the revolutionary and ultimate game that Bethesda had announced over the past years. The truth is, like Skyrim, the space RPG looks to improve over the years, and in this case, the development team has taken note of fan requests and complaints. As a result, the post-launch process has begun, promising constant updates.
Starfield to Improve Every 6 Weeks Starting in 2024
Through a post on the official Starfield subreddit, Bethesda shared its planned update schedule for the space RPG starting in 2024. According to the company, they are currently addressing issues in priority areas, resolving negative or even dangerous details for save files that have appeared during mission developments.

Bethesda announced that they will release updates with new features for Starfield approximately every 6 weeks, with the goal of addressing player requests and complaints. This includes prioritized features like travel methods: "We're hard at work on many of the new features you've asked for, from city maps to mod support and all-new ways to travel (stay tuned!). These will be rolled out with a regular cadence of fixes and updates we hope to have roughly every 6 weeks. If something can be done with a smaller mid-cycle update, and we believe it's safe, we'll do that too. Safety is key here. We take a lot of time to test even the smallest change in such a large and dynamic game."
In related news, Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, celebrated the 12 million unique players that Starfield registered in its latest update, assuring that many of them will play for several years as the space RPG continues to receive content and updates.
On the flip side, the leader of a Skyrim mods project analyzed the current potential for improvement in Starfield, but his opinion of Bethesda's new work was not favorable, even labeling the game as mediocre.
