Senua's Saga: Hellblade II looks to be a pleasant surprise
In the latest episode of the DirectXbox podcast, popular insider NateTheHate discussed the reception of Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Specifically, he explains that the initial simulated reviews were very positive, so Microsoft expects the game to receive very good ratings when it hits stores.
The leaker comments that, based on what he heard last year, the company's projections are that the game will achieve an average score above 90 on Metacritic. However, he is unaware of whether the simulated reviews are solely internal or if external reviews were also conducted. In any case, the preliminary tests yielded very positive results.
Of course, it's important to note that simulated reviews, both internal and external, do not necessarily represent reality. Thus, there is always the possibility that a title receives a worse or better rating when it is released. Additionally, the information provided by NateTheHate lacks official confirmation.
Certainly, there is no reason to believe that Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be a bad game. The first installment from 2017 received very good reviews and captivated players with its impactful story, impressive graphics, and top-notch performance by Melina Juergens. Currently, it has an average rating of 81 on PS4 and 88 on Xbox One.
The sequel had a brief appearance at The Game Awards 2023, where it showcased a new and spectacular trailer. Unfortunately, its release date is unknown.
