Rumors raised eyebrows among a sector of the community, is exclusivity bidding farewell?

Without prior notice, Hi-Fi RUSH, the latest project from Tango Gameworks, debuted in early 2023 and immediately captivated fans with its charisma and polished mechanics. Now, it seems that it could arrive on more platforms, although some Xbox fans are less than enthusiastic about the idea.

A few days ago, insider NateTheNate indicated that a acclaimed Xbox exclusive could come to other consoles. The also informant lolilolailo complemented that report and indicated that the title in question is Hi-Fi RUSH.

Additionally, an official listing from the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts of Australia suggests that the acclaimed rhythmic action game could abandon exclusivity and arrive on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation at some point.

Xbox Players Don't Want to Lose Hi-Fi RUSH Exclusivity

After the wave of rumors and speculation, Ryan McCaffrey, editor of IGN, praised the hypothetical Xbox move; however, a sector of the community believes that it is a mistake for exclusives to be enjoyed on competing platforms.

Specifically, some players believe that a scenario where Hi-Fi RUSH and more Microsoft games lose exclusivity will devalue the Xbox brand and make it not worth acquiring a console from the company. Thus, they fear that this move will have negative long-term effects.

Other fans agree with the idea that "small" titles like Hi-Fi RUSH are available for Nintendo and PlayStation ecosystems, but they are concerned and fear that high-profile offerings like Halo, Starfield, Gears of War, and many more, will follow the same path.

"It's great that more people can play this gem, but you've lived long enough to know that, objectively, this is not ideal for the Xbox player who invested in the console's ecosystem," said one user.

"Xbox needs all the exclusives it can get. They're killing the console with this IP-sharing! Not everyone wants to play on PC. Therefore, console players need exclusives or they'll abandon ship and switch platforms. This is a problem! Nintendo and Sony do not share their IPs," commented another fan.

Messages of this nature can be found throughout social media and forums. Of course, there are also those who are happy with the idea that more users can play Xbox titles. It's worth noting that, in recent days, another rumor has surfaced suggesting that Sea of Thieves, the popular multiplayer pirate game developed by Rare, could join the Playstation catalog.

As of writing these lines, Microsoft has not confirmed that Hi-Fi RUSH or Sea of Thieves will come to more platforms. We recommend taking these reports with a grain of salt.

But tell us, do you think it's a good idea for Xbox games to come to PlayStation 5 or Nintendo Switch? Does it bother you? Let us know in the comments.
