One of Ubisoft's best recent projects is not a video game but Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, an anime inspired by Blood Dragon, itself a spin-off of Far Cry 3. It appears that this new franchise will soon be adapted into a video game.
Although the Japanese company has not announced further plans for Captain Laserhawk beyond the 6 episodes of the animation, we know that they are preparing a video game adaptation called Captain Laserhawk Niji Warrior.
What will the Far Cry and Captain Laserhawk spin-off be like?
This information comes after a listing from the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) revealed the existence of Captain Laserhawk Niji Warrior.
The title refers to Niji 6, an enemy group in Captain Laserhawk inspired by Power Rangers and Rainbow Six Siege.
The listing was available temporarily, but apparently, at Ubisoft's request or at the initiative of PEGI, it was removed, and at the moment, searching for this game in the database yields no results.
However, thanks to screenshots (via MP1st), we can see that the title received a PEGI 12 rating due to including violence not suitable for those under 12 years old.
Likewise, the listing revealed that Captain Laserhawk Niji Warrior would be a multiplayer title where the goal is to eliminate as many players as possible in Deathmatch mode matches with lasers.
Another detail that caught attention is that this project could well be free-to-play since it would include microtransactions, through which players could purchase cosmetic items.
"We do not comment on rumors or speculation," said a Ubisoft spokesperson when questioned about the listing (via IGN).
