According to various reports, PlayStation wants to prevent certain Final Fantasy installments from coming to Xbox. Despite this, recent rumors claim that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be coming to Microsoft consoles sooner or later. Now, a reputed insider claimed that Final Fantasy XVI will also have a port for Xbox Series X|S.
A port of Final Fantasy XVI for Xbox is already in development
Insider Nick Baker shared information that excited the Xbox community, as he stated that Final Fantasy XVI will no longer be exclusive to PlayStation 5. This is because an alleged port of the RPG for Xbox Series X|S is already in development.
As you know, the relationship between Square Enix and Xbox has not been the best in recent months; however, the American company vowed to change the situation in favor of its players. Recently, it was confirmed that Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to the Xbox ecosystem.
If the reports about Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy XVI are confirmed, then it would mean that Xbox has accomplished its mission. Unfortunately, Baker did not share further details on the matter. Gamers are relying on his information, as he was the one who claimed that Square Enix would be present at this week's Developer_Direct.
Although the insider has proven to be a pretty reliable source, it should not be forgotten that this is an unofficial report. It will be best to wait and see if Square Enix and Xbox will team up to offer Final Fantasy XVI to X|S Series users.
