The Developer_Direct is still on everyone's lips not only because of the attractive games it presented, but also because fans believe that Xbox hid clues about the return of an iconic franchise. Gamers with very good eyesight noticed that in a part of the presentation the logo of Quake is seen. The interesting thing is that it suggests that the sixth installment of the saga is on its way.
The Xbox Developer_Direct hinted at the return of Quake
Most gamers probably didn't notice it, but in one part of the Developer_Direct, the Quake 6 logo is seen. To be exact, it appears briefly in a shot where you see a whiteboard at the MachineGames offices.
Because of this, gamers and fans of the franchise speculate that the studio is working on the next installment of the shooter. Many were struck by this detail, since Quake 5 does not exist as such unless Quake Champions is considered to be such an installment.
For some time now there have been rumors about the possible return of the FPS with a new title, but we have only seen the remasterings of the first 2 games of the saga. Its fans have been asking for years for a return to the roots, but nothing has materialized so far.
The big mystery to be solved is whether Quake 6 is really in development and if MachineGames is part of the project. This would coincide with reports that id Software and said studio are preparing a sort of reboot of the saga.
Rumors claim that the project will have a female protagonist. In addition, we know that it will supposedly feature single-player modes and, furthermore, it would be a competitive experience with several multiplayer modes.
