The surprise early access release and subsequent global success of Palworld caught everyone off guard, including the developers and Xbox. The current viral game has been a hit on Steam, and although it debuted on Xbox Game Pass and Windows, players are questioning why these versions lack features that are available on the Valve platform. Well, the developers have responded.
Why can't Palworld be played with 32 players on Xbox and Windows?
While Palworld conquers the world, Xbox and Windows players noticed that their experience was different from that of Steam users. Initially, on Microsoft platforms, there can only be a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to 4 people; unfortunately, at this time, connecting to dedicated servers to experience up to 32 players is not possible, as it is on the Valve platform.
In response, a representative from Pocket Pair stated that Palworld currently only supports cooperative multiplayer for up to 4 people and crossplay between Xbox and Windows. He noted that they are working to provide this version with access to dedicated servers, but the final decision lies with Microsoft and its review process.

Why doesn't Palworld have features that are present in the Steam version?
Later, the same Palworld representative revealed that the lack of features in the Xbox Series X|S and Windows versions compared to the Steam version is due to the ongoing review and validation process for a patch update requested from Microsoft. As soon as it is ready, they will proceed to launch the update that enhances the experience.
In this regard, Pocket Pair emphasizes that the current situation depends on the certification process, not on them, so they ask for patience from Palworld players on Xbox. Finally, the studio mentioned that the number of versions on Xbox, Windows, and Steam should not be considered a comparative parameter because they will always have differences due to the architecture of each platform.
