Twitch: Streamer fakes an accident during a live broadcast and receives punishment

Standing out and succeeding on Twitch is a task that becomes increasingly challenging. In an attempt to stand out and build a large community, content creators resort to all kinds of strategies and tricks: from playing a game in unconventional ways to live streams with a suggestive tone. Now, a streamer is making headlines for the wrong reasons.

Recently, Boggles, a Twitch streamer from Australia, made headlines with a viral video showing him inserting a metal fork into a toaster, causing a short circuit. Needless to say, doing such a thing is very risky and can have serious consequences for both the person and the environment.

Naturally, the video caught the attention of people on social media. At this moment, it has already garnered more than 21,400 likes and 2 million views on X, a social media platform formerly known as Twitter. Reactions were as expected, with users criticizing the influencer's actions.

Boggles stages a fake accident, goes viral, and gets banned from Twitch

It's worth noting that the videos are fake, meaning Boggles was never in real danger. However, faking an accident where he simulates putting his life or others at risk directly violates Twitch's guidelines. For this reason, he received a 30-day suspension.

"Self-harm behavior (engaging in activities that could endanger one's life or cause physical harm) is not allowed on Twitch. As this is a violation of our community guidelines, we have temporarily suspended his account. Know that you are valued as part of the community. Please take care," the platform said in an email.

Boggles requested Twitch to lift the ban, arguing that his prank was "an honest mistake." Since his request was not successful, he created an account on Kick, another streaming platform, and announced that he will stream there until his temporary ban is lifted.

This is not the first time this content creator has drawn attention and caused controversy. In 2023, he attended the esports tournament Dreamhack Melbourne and sprayed deodorant on the players. Despite apologizing, the event organization banned him for life.
