Evangelion is undoubtedly one of the most iconic manga and anime series in history with a multitude of fans. All of them won't want to miss an upcoming collaboration that marks the franchise's return to console gaming and PlayStation.
Unfortunately, some Evangelion titles have been challenging to play because they haven't made it to the West, not to mention that lately, its titles have been exclusively for mobile devices. In fact, the last console release, (激アツ!! パチゲー魂MAX ヱヴァンゲリヲン “7” × “生命の鼓動”), came to PlayStation 3 in 2012 and featured pachislot mechanics.
What is the Evangelion collaboration with Tower of Fantasy?
The good news for fans is that Evangelion will soon return to a PlayStation console game through a collaboration with Tower of Fantasy, and it will also be available on PC and mobile versions worldwide, including the West.
Thanks to the collaboration, players will encounter Shinji Ikari, Asuka Shikinami Langley, and Rei Ayanami in the Vera Sector and join forces with them to stop the onslaught of the Angels.
Players will be able to obtain simulacrums of Asuka Shikinami Langley and Rei Ayanami. Additionally, Pen Pen will appear in the game as an NPC character accompanying the player.
According to the details, the collaboration will also include 1:1 replicas of the EVA-00, EVA-01, and EVA-02 units. Classic scenes from the anime will be reproduced in the game, blending with its narrative.
The Hotta Studio team is finalizing the last details, but the bad news is that there is still no date for the collaboration. However, it was reiterated that it will take place in the "first half of 2024," so the wait shouldn't be too long.
What else is coming to Tower of Fantasy?
If you're a Tower of Fantasy player, the wait won't be too burdensome, as you'll find many novelties in the coming days.
Version 3.6, Beyond Horizons, will debut on January 30th along with the new Aquaville map, the latest in Domain 9. In addition to introducing a new gaming experience with Cabin 8, version 3.6 will include the debut of the simulacrum Plotti, a hacker responsible for monitoring Gesthos.
Moreover, it was revealed that Tower of Fantasy will finally have a physical release, precisely on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, offering a plethora of resources as well as exclusive content.
Best of all, Hotta Studio promised that Tower of Fantasy is a game with long-term goals, reaffirming its commitment to continue offering new content.
"As a game with long-term plans, Tower of Fantasy has much more in store for future versions. New companions, a new open world, and stories will unfold in version 4.0—stay tuned for what's coming," the studio expressed.
