Silent Hill is a legendary franchise known for its deep stories, iconic monsters, and bleak atmosphere. While the first 3 games are possibly the most beloved, the fourth installment also has its fans.
Silent Hill 4: The Room debuted in the distant 2004, 20 years ago. Although it still looks good and its mechanics hold up, it's undeniable that it feels a bit outdated by today's standards. How about a remake that brings this cult classic into modernity?
It's unknown if Konami plans to remake this or another game in the franchise after the new version of the second installment. However, a fan used Unreal Engine 5 to showcase what such a project might look like.
This is How a Remake of Silent Hill 4: The Room Would Look in Unreal Engine 5
YouTuber Maxim Dorokhov shared a video on his personal channel that caught the attention of fans. It's an exact recreation of the famous room of Henry Townshend made in Unreal Engine 5, the latest version of the popular game engine from Epic Games.
According to the creator of this next-gen recreation of the 2004 classic survival horror, the video is rendered with real-time lighting. The result is impressive, as the entire room is highly detailed: from the door with chains to the dirty dishes.
However, Maxim Dorokhov clarified in the videos that this is a personal project, and he has no plans to recreate the entire Silent Hill 4: The Room in Unreal Engine 5 or release a playable version to the public. So, fans longing for a remake will have to settle for these visuals.

After many years of absence, the franchise returned last year with the release of the controversial Silent Hill: Ascension, a narrative game that received criticism for its business model and the overall quality of the story. Hopefully, the remake of Silent Hill 2, scheduled to debut this year, will meet expectations.
But tell us, would you like the fourth installment to return with an upgraded version? Let us know in the comments.
