This week a trailer of Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web, a multiplayer title from Insomniac Games that was canceled, was leaked. The response from fans of the arachnid and PlayStation players was not long in coming, as they lamented that the project is not a reality.
Part of the community even created a petition asking Sony and PlayStation to resume the project. This is because players believe that Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web would be a success, as its concept looks very promising.
PlayStation fans want to play Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web
The leaked trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web generated all sorts of opinions among PlayStation fans. A significant portion of the community believes it's a shame that the project has been canceled, as many believe it has potential.
Because of this, some gamers turned to Change.org to create a petition and show their interest in the multiplayer title. In it, they are asking Sony to take up the project again, as they believe it would be a success and give PlayStation an excellent game as a service.
"Just like you I am in absolute shock that the multiplayer game for Spider-Man The Great Web was cancelled. This petition is to show insomniac and Sony the love and want we have for this possibly groundbreaking multiplayer experience," stated the author of the petition.
As of this writing, 1491 signatures have been collected out of the 1500 sought by the community. Several players posted comments where they support the idea of continuing multiplayer development. The existence of the title came to light due to the recent hacking of Insomniac Games. Marvel's Spider-Man: The Great Web was in production and was cancelled for unknown reasons.
"This game is and has everything I've wanted since I was a child. As long as Sony doesn't touch or interfere this game will become one of the best live-service games of it's time. It has so much potential. We know insomniac can do it," wrote another excited gamer.
