In recent days, many details were leaked about the technology and potential of the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro. This has caused the community to speculate on how well it will run certain highly anticipated games, such as Grand Theft Auto 6.
There are those who believe that Rockstar Games will take advantage of the extra hardware potential to deliver the best console experience of their next blockbuster. Gamers dream that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be able to run the title at 60 fps. Because of this, experts opined on the subject and put an end to the illusion of many.
The PS5 Pro will be powerful but how well will it run GTA 6?
Rich Leadbetter, founder of Digital Foundry, discussed the leaked PlayStation 5 Pro specs during the most recent edition of the DF Direct podcast (via IGN). He claimed that Sony's next console won't be able to run Grand Theft Auto 6 at 60 fps.
From his perspective, Rockstar's game will run at 30 fps on a standard PlayStation 5, so the same will likely be true on a PlayStation 5 Pro. This is because the CPU of the consoles is virtually the same, according to leaks.
The expert notes that the PlayStation 5 Pro CPU will only increase performance by 10%. For this reason, he believes it is unlikely that the game will run at 60 fps, unless Rockstar works magic on the programming side.
However, it is expected that the rumored Sony console will offer several improvements and thus be one of the best options to enjoy the new installment of the saga. It is not superfluous to remember that the company has not yet confirmed its new hardware and, therefore, the exact technical specifications are not known.
Rockstar stated in the past that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be their most ambitious game yet and that they aim for perfection. Thus, it is expected that they will take advantage of the potential of all current generation consoles to surprise players.
