The purchase of Xbox by Nvidia was a simple joke
The site TweakTown decided to surprise its readers this morning with the publication of an incredible news: Microsoft decided to sell Xbox and Nvidia pulled out the wallet to acquire the gaming division. Something that is obviously false.
The joke did not stop there, as it was also assured that the next Xbox was going to have a dual GPU and that it would be powered by artificial intelligence to compete with PlayStation 6. It was even assured that there would be more details of the console later this year and that its launch was scheduled for April 1, 2025.
While it was clear that it was all a joke, some gamers believed the information and were surprised. Several said it was an interesting and historic deal that could change the landscape of the industry.
For some, the report was credible as Nvidia, Microsoft and Xbox have collaborated in the past. The most recent example is the arrival of Xbox games on GeForce Now, Nvidia's cloud gaming service.
Others simply did not fall for the joke and claimed that the information made no sense at all. Social media users reminded the rest of the community that today is April Fools' Day, so they shouldn't believe everything they read on social media.
