The One Piece universe is full of interesting characters that we have come to know in depth thanks to the anime, manga and various movies. After years of working on the franchise, Eiichirō Oda finally decided to explore the story of one of the most prominent characters of the Straw Hats and the series in general. We are referring to Roronoa Zoro, also known as the Pirate Hunter.
One Piece will tell the story of Roronoa Zoro in a prequel
Roronoa Zoro is Luffy's right-hand man and one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise. We have known details of his past throughout the series; however, we don't know in depth about his life before meeting the future King of Pirates.
Fortunately, that will soon change, as a light novel called ZORO - Josho Sasakaze will be published, which will tell us about the swordsman's adventures before meeting Luffy at the beginning of the series. It will narrate part of his solo adventures as the feared Pirate Hunter.
The publication will be handled by Jun Esaka and the art will be done by artist Nakamaru, both of whom have worked on the franchise before. There is no release date yet; however, fans of the saga are very excited.
The anime and manga have slowly explored Roronoa Zoro's story, but not with the depth that has been done with other characters. The new novel will be the opportunity to get to know the aspiring world's greatest swordsman.
