Fans of Resident Evil are excited as rumors have surfaced in recent days about a possible new remake of the first installment of the saga. However, gamers are now worried due to recent statements from one of the franchise's most reputable insiders.
Dusk Golem gave his opinion on the reports and was incredulous. From his point of view, the new remake of the first Resident Evil will not happen even though the 30th anniversary of the saga would be the ideal time to release it. In short, he believes that one of the sources of such information is lying.
The new remake of the first Resident Evil is not real, according to Dusk Golem
.The insider used social media to make an important clarification: he has not said anything or backed up the rumors about the remake as various sources have claimed. He also made it clear that he does not believe the information that has been shared in recent days.
According to Biohazard Declassified, the first Resident Evil will return with a revamped version made with RE Engine. The title would have a slower pace compared to the Resident Evil 2 remake. It would be played in third person and would delve deeper into the lore.
In addition, the Crimson Heads are said to return and Capcom will leave prerendered backgrounds behind. Dusk Golem stressed that he does not believe this information and knows nothing about such a special project for the 30 years of the saga.
"For the record, I've never commented anywhere that a new remake of RE1 is happening for the series 30th anniversary in anyway. Multiple people online have tried to attach that to me, but I've never said anything of the sort. In big part since I think the rumor is bullshit.
People might be surprised, but I don't actually just believe in baseless rumors, and as far as I know nothing of the sort of what's being claimed with RE1 for a 30th anniversary thing is happening in any shape or form. That's all I gotta' say on that. It's someone lying," stated the insider.
