According to several reports, the reveal of Resident Evil 9 is imminent. Of course, fans of the franchise are filled with excitement at the possible unveiling of the saga's new chapter; however, it would be best if they keep their expectations in check.
A reputed insider of the franchise shared bad news about Capcom's next game. According to his sources, the reveal of Resident Evil 9 is not as close as previously thought, and he also stated that it will take longer to debut.
Resident Evil 9 will take longer than expected to be revealed and debut
Dusk Golem shared new information about Resident Evil 9 on its social media. He clarified reports of a possible imminent reveal and stated that the game's unveiling will take longer than many expect. Thus, it is unlikely that we will see it in this announcement season.
“First, I would wipe the expectations of RE9 being announced this summer period. The initial murmers I heard I now do believe are right, & RE9's announcement is further away than this upcoming summer. Sorry for the back-and-forth on that, that's my fault.,” the insider stated.
Another piece of bad news is related to the supposed release date of the franchise's new installment. He claimed that the project suffered a delay and is likely to debut until the end of 2025. There is another scenario that worries gamers, as the insider does not rule out the game's debut moving to 2026. “RE9 is pushed back to late 2025/2026,” Dusk Golem merely said.
Unfortunately, he did not share more information about the game, so its reveal and release date are a mystery. It will be best to wait for Capcom to give clues about the future of its popular saga, as it has not confirmed the new games that are on the way.
