Call of Duty has received several criticisms in recent days due to its latest collaborations, as fans believe that the series has lost part of its essence by following in the footsteps of popular games like Fortnite: Battle Royale and others.
Despite this, Activision will not change its strategy and already has more unexpected crossovers planned for its successful franchise. In fact, the company confirmed this week a collaboration with WWE, so several surprises for wrestling fans are on the way.
When will the Call of Duty and WWE event start?
Activision surprised fans of its franchise with a post on social media. It’s a teaser trailer that shows a wrestling ring and several silhouettes of fighters who will likely join the series with special skins.
This collaboration is planned for the beginning of Season 5, which is just around the corner. Activision confirmed that the new season of its franchise and the collaboration with WWE will arrive on July 24. So it will be available in less than two weeks.
As has been the case in recent seasons, the thematic content is expected to be available for Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile. For now, the studio has not confirmed what content will be offered to players.
Fans are hoping that popular WWE wrestlers will become Operators or that the shooter’s characters will receive cosmetic content based on famous World Wrestling Entertainment wrestlers.
Call of Duty players will need to be patient and wait a little longer, as Activision is sure to reveal more details about the content they are preparing in a few days. We will keep you informed about it. Below you can see the video:
