The video game and acting industries are in mourning. This morning, the passing of Sam Mowry, an American voice actor who worked on prominent titles throughout his career, such as League of Legends, Dota 2, and more, was reported.
His family revealed that the actor passed away at the age of 64 due to cardiac arrest he suffered over the weekend while preparing for emergency surgery. Riot Games and players took to social media to acknowledge his work and say their goodbyes to Mowry.

Mowry had a very active career in theater, working on various stage and radio adaptations. He was also known to be a lover of musicals, where he portrayed iconic characters.
The actor dedicated a significant part of his career to video games. He is best known for voicing Rhaast in League of Legends, Anti-Mage in Dota 2, Arpeggio in Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Kessler in Infamous, Alexander in Amnesia: The Dark Descent, among other characters.
Through their social media, Riot Games paid tribute to the actor and recognized his significant contributions to League of Legends and the industry in general. Players thanked him for his work and for bringing iconic characters to life in important sagas.
“We are saddened to learn that Sam Mowry, the voice of Rhaast, passed away this weekend. For the voice of a Darkin, Sam was a beacon of light. It was an honor to work with him and he will live on as part of Runeterra forever. Thank you, Sam,” wrote the studio.
