This morning, a report surfaced about a supposed Batman game inspired by Matt Reeves' movie and Robert Pattinson that, in some way, would also be related to the upcoming series The Penguin, which will debut in September.
The information spread like wildfire on forums and social media, as players have been dreaming for years of a new action-adventure game featuring the Dark Knight. The supposed leak caused such a stir that even James Gunn, head of the DC Extended Universe, spoke on the matter. Unfortunately, he gave bad news to the superhero's fans.
James Gunn denies The Batman based game
As soon as the news broke about the supposed game set in the universe of The Batman, the community began speculating about its mechanics and other elements of the title, as the idea was attractive to many.
Some fans were skeptical and decided to question James Gunn about the existence of the game and the legitimacy of the report. To their surprise, the DC creative completely debunked the leak, meaning the game does not exist. Of course, this disappointed many Batman fans.
In a message posted on Threads, Gunn simply stated: "Sadly there is no truth to this whatsoever," putting an end to the excitement and hopes of many players. That said, you shouldn't expect any game based on The Batman, at least not for now.
Even so, Dark Knight fans still have an alternative to enjoy in the coming months. We are referring to Batman: Arkham Shadow, a virtual reality game that will be exclusively released for Meta Quest 3 sometime in October.
