Fans of Minecraft will have to be a little more patient to enjoy the movie of the franchise. This is because the production will arrive in theaters next year. Fortunately, it will do so in the first half of 2025, so the wait won’t be too long.

Minecraft will be released globally on April 4th. It will tell the story of Garrett “The Trashman” Garrison, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn, characters described as misfits and portrayed by Jason Momoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks, respectively.

Suddenly, all of them will be transported to the Overworld, where they will have to fight against various iconic creatures to return to their reality. On their journey, they will encounter Steve, who will be played by Jack Black.

The adaptation is directed by Jared Hess, known for his work on productions like Ninety-Five Senses and Nacho Libre. Creatives like Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson, and Vu Bui were producers of the film. On the other hand, Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary, and Anthony Tittanegro were executive producers.

The reveal trailer gives us a glimpse of the Overworld and its well-known look. It also shows some of its creatures and, of course, Steve. You can watch it below:
