What Is the True Origin of the Namekians?
Dragon Ball Daima starts shortly after the Z Fighters defeat Buu and the consequences that followed. Let’s recall that in that saga, the Demon King Dabura is killed by Majin Buu after Babidi controls him. This leaves the Demon Realm without a leader, so Gomah, one of the new antagonists, takes charge.
In his new role, Gomah reveals that a Namekian resides in the Demon Realm. His name is Neva, and he is responsible for creating the Dragon Balls of this realm, which have the power to grant evil wishes.

Once Gomah and Neva arrive on Earth, they have a conversation with Dendé, and to his surprise, they reveal that Namekians are not aliens from Planet Namek. Instead, they are demons that originated in the Demon Realm.
This revelation might not be too surprising for fans of Dragon Ball, the original series by Akira Toriyama. Let’s remember that in it, Piccolo was introduced as the Demon King. It wasn’t until Dragon Ball Z that the existence of Namek was revealed as the Namekians’ home planet.
But then, how did the Namekians end up on Namek? What drove them out of the Demon Realm? That’s something we’ll have to uncover later on.
Dragon Ball Daima has already premiered on Crunchyroll. You can learn more about this anime series by clicking here.
