During the most recent State of Play, Team ASOBI revealed what many PlayStation gamers were waiting for: more content for ASTRO BOT, a platformer that was very well received by critics and PlayStation 5 players. The news was somewhat bittersweet, as the content fascinated fans of the lovable robot, but the studio did not confirm a release date.
At the event, Team ASOBI only revealed that the DLC would be ready sometime in the fall, so it could arrive between September and late December. Fortunately, we now know that the wait won't be that long. In fact, its release is just around the corner, as it will arrive this week.
The long-awaited DLC for ASTRO BOT will debut in a few hours
In case you don't remember, Team ASOBI is working on new levels that will test players' speedrunner skills and additional robots for the acclaimed platformer. The good news is that the new content will start arriving starting tomorrow, October 17.
In a few hours, players will be able to enjoy Building Speed , the first extra level where speed and a good jumping technique will be essential to succeed. These levels will have an online scoreboard, so the community will be able to compete against players from all over the world.
Team ASOBI announced that it will release a new level every week from October 17 to November 14. The updates will be available at no cost on the PlayStation Store every Thursday, at 6:00 AM PT.
Each new level will have 2 additional robots that, of course, will pay homage to important franchises for PlayStation players, such as Stellar Blade, Helldivers and others that have not yet been revealed. Below you can see a trailer and a list with the additional levels and their release dates:
- Building Speed (October 17)
- Let it Slide (October 24)
- Spring-loaded Run (October 31)
- Helium Heights (November 7)
- Rising Heat (November 14)
