Why Do Players Believe Update 19.0.0 Could Ruin Their Nintendo Switch?

Recently, several Nintendo Switch users gathered on Reddit to discuss their concerns about the 19.0.0 update for the hybrid console, which has brought us games like Super Mario Odyssey and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They pointed out that the update comes with several issues that make them fear for the long-term longevity of their console.

According to different user testimonies, after installing the update, the console feels warm even after sitting in the dock for hours without use, with the battery fully charged. They also mentioned that the battery seems to be draining faster.

"Since the 19.0.0 update, has anyone else noticed their Switch staying warm in rest mode, even when fully charged in the dock, hours after playing?" said user yukar1n. "It's as if it's incapable of reliably and consistently entering full rest mode. Aside from the heat, it seems the battery drains faster; you can tell when you take the console out of the dock."

In various Reddit threads, it's clear that many users are concerned about the same problem. It seems to be happening across Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, and Nintendo Switch OLED.
