The internet has given us many great things: global communication, massive online gaming, and boundless access to information. But few things compare to the joy of AMVs—fan-made anime music videos syncing epic scenes with rock and metal tracks. Now, a fan-made mod for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO aims to bring back that golden era.
The Dragon Ball franchise by Akira Toriyama has a deep connection with AMVs. Back in 2007, it was common to find YouTube videos featuring anime scenes set to songs by Linkin Park, Evanescence, Bon Jovi, Three Days Grace, and other rock bands of the time. These videos became fan favorites, especially since streaming services like Netflix and Crunchyroll were still on the rise. But thanks to one dedicated fan, this tradition lives on in Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.

Amazing Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Mod Adds Classic AMV Tracks
The GameBanana user tishcufksips delighted the Dragon Ball community with the DBZ AMV BGM Pack. True to its name, this mod adds iconic rock and metal songs from the golden age of AMVs.
While the mod has some limitations—such as only replacing battle background music, leaving the main menu and Sparking! mode tracks untouched—it’s a fantastic throwback for those who want to relive the thrill of fighting Goku while rocking out to the best of 2000s music.
The mod’s playlist includes classics like Numb by Linkin Park, Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace, Chop Suey! by System of a Down, It’s My Life by Bon Jovi, and Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. Additionally, the creator added tracks from older Dragon Ball Z games, such as Budokai 3 and Raging Blast.
Playing Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO with songs like Indestructible and New Divide in the background truly enhances the experience. However, Bandai Namco recently announced they’ll take action against mods, including banning players who create or share unofficial custom battles.
So, what do you think of this mod? What’s your favorite AMV? Let us know in the comments.
