NiGHTS cumplió 25 años; no hubo juego nuevo, pero los fans recordaron la serie

Hace poco, SEGA celebró los 35 años de Sonic, su mascota que lo ha acompañado buena parte de su historia en el negocio del entretenimiento electrónico. Si eres fan de SEGA sabes que este mes otra franquicia de SEGA celebraría otro importante aniversario y, si bien no hubo un festejo similar al del erizo, no pasó desapercibido por los fans y uno de sus creadores.

Estamos hablando de NiGHTS. La primera entrega de la serie, NiGHTS into Dreams, fue desarrollada por los creadores de Sonic, el legendario Sonic Team, liderados por el director Naoto Ohshima, el productor Yuji Naka y el diseñador Takashi Iizuka, y debutó en la consola SEGA Saturn el 5 de julio de 1996. Una de las curiosas novedades de este título fue su control, pues implementó una movilidad en escenarios 3D que introdujo un curioso control para la consola.

Como vez, el juego acaba de cumplir 25 años, una cifra que suele ser importante, en especial cuando hay pocas franquicias que pueden presumir tal longevidad.

Los fans no dejaron pasar desapercibido el 25.º aniversario de NiGHTS

Lamentablemente, SEGA no anunció ningún juego nuevo de la franquicia y tampoco hubo un genial concierto con su música. En realidad, SEGA ni siquiera preparó una ilustración ni hizo gran alboroto de este acontecimiento en redes sociales. Una cuenta retro oficial de la compañía se limitó a preguntar a los fans cuales son sus recuerdos con la serie y SEGA Europe hizo lo posible para que el aniversario no pasara desapercibido y organizó un stream. Por fortuna, los seguidores de NiGHTS hicieron lo suyo y recordaron la franquicia con muchos mensajes en redes sociales.

Entre el montón de mensajes de usuarios con entrañables recuerdos del juego o mostrando sus colecciones, incluso hubo algunos fans que mencionaron que juegan este título con sus hijos y otros, además de felicitar la longeva franquicia expresaron sus deseos de que pronto SEGA lance un nuevo título de la serie.

Una de los mensajes que destacó fue el de Yuji Naka, pues no dejó pasar la oportunidad de recordar a NiGHTS y por medio de Twitter compartió su felicitación: "¡¡Feliz cumpleaños, NiGHTS!! ¿Recuerdas aquel cuando volaste por primera vez? Feliz 25.º aniversario", expresó el creativo.

Como te comentamos días atrás, la esperanza de los fans de ver un nuevo juego de la serie llegaron a su fin luego de que se descubriera que el registro que se creyó que podría ser de un videojuego terminó siendo de una máquina de casino. Tendremos que esperar para ver si SEGA tiene planes para retomar la franquicia y algún día ver a NiGHTS en un nuevo sueño.
